FIELD: nontraditional process plants, in particular, chemical reactors in which energy of electromagnetic radiation of super-high frequency range is used for conduction of endothermal catalytic reaction. SUBSTANCE: reactor is essentially a vertical cylindrical heat-insulated vessel partially filled with catalyst. Reactor body serves as a resonator of SHF oscillator - source of electromagnetic energy. Upper cover of reactor uses as a radiating antenna and is connected with oscillator, waveguide or high-frequency cable. Raw material without preheating is supplied to reactor top part. Contact gas is withdrawn through reactor lower part. Unreacted raw material after separation is returned to reactor inlet. Reactor diameter, height of catalysts layer, volumetric consumption of raw materials and power of SHF oscillator are selected so that all energy of electromagnetic radiation transforms in catalyst in heat required for endothermal reaction.
