FIELD: shipbuilding; shipboard propellers arranged in tunnels. SUBSTANCE: propeller is mounted in through tunnel whose lower face is provided with rectangular ports partially closed from the inside by means of hinged flaps. Aft sections of these flaps are slightly raised and are provided with retainers of maximum opening without closing the section of tunnel. Flap is also mounted on fore end of tunnel. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency due to use of energy of sea swell and counter flow. 3 dwg
