FIELD: technology of production of thermostable ceramic pigments; production of building ceramics, sanitary ceramics and decorative ceramics. SUBSTANCE: aqueous pulp of silicium dioxide, basic zirconium sulfate and chloroform additive are mixed. In zirconium sulfate molar ratio of sulfate group and zirconium is 0.6-0.8. Pulp is treated by ammonium (bi)carbonate to pH 8-9. Thus obtained residue is separated, washed, mixed with mineralizing agent, dried and treated by heat at 900-1300 C. EFFECT: increased yield of the product and simplified the process. 1 tbl
