FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; liquid cooling and heating of internal combustion engine with circulation of cooling liquid in closed circuit and with use of heat accumulator. SUBSTANCE: system implementing proposed method has heater, heat accumulator charged with heat by exhaust gases, liquid temperature controller, means to control exhaust gas flow through heat accumulator versus ambient temperature. Charging of heat accumulator is done simultaneously with heating of liquid in process of engine operation. By the moment of engine shutting down tolerable maximum temperature of liquid and charging of heat accumulator are provided. From the moment of engine shutting down to the moment of repeated starting possibility of continuous positive and/or thermosiphon circulation of liquid in circuit is provided. EFFECT: reduced time taken for one working cycle, reduced heat losses of exhaust gases. 7 cl, 3 dwg
