FIELD: machine tool manufacture; machine-tool attachments for finishing parts of out-of-round cross-section, such as pistons of internal-combustion engines, for example, in precision turning machines. SUBSTANCE: copying machine has copying system incorporating control link with copying and reading facilities and arrangement converting control link motion to transverse feed of tool. Tool 3 is rigidly coupled with output controller of mentioned arrangement converting control link motion. The latter is made in the form of DC magnetic field source incorporating at least one part made in the form of permanent magnet 9,10,11,12 and core 13. The latter functions as output controller. At least part of core 13 is made of magnetostrictive material. Magnetic field source and core 13 are mounted for relative displacement and positioning so that in the course of mentioned relative displacement magnetic flux in core 13 varies obeying cyclic law predetermined by control link. Provision is made for different design forms of machine and its parts affording precision cyclic correction of radial feed of output controller (tool 3).
