FIELD: ultrasonic flaw inspection of materials. SUBSTANCE: device has base, at least one base-mounted normal-wave ultrasonic transducer connected to ultrasonic flaw detector, as well as contact fluid tank communicating with inspection zone under transducer, and locking unit for holding base in position on tube surface. Locking unit is built up of four magnetic rings base-mounted on turning arms for their locking in relative angular positions when mounted on surfaces of tubes of definite diameter. At least one ultrasonic transducer is radially spring-loaded relative to tube surface and has mechanism for varying its angular position relative to tube surface for adjusting angle of ultrasonic wave incidence on tube surface so as to excite normal waves in tube. EFFECT: improved reliability of transducer adjustment and positioning on tube surface. 7 cl, 4 dwg
