FIELD: equipment for magnetic purification of process liquids. SUBSTANCE: magnetic separator has vessel with supplying and discharge branch pipes for storing process liquid under treatment, mounting frame, cylindrical magnetic cartridges arranged with their head part in radially spaced relationship on cross-piece equipped with drive made in the form of hydraulic cylinder and fixed on frame by means of linear roller bearing, whose guides are arranged on vertical column. Magnetic cartridges are set in two rows in plan. Cartridge receiving slots are positioned so that three nearest cartridges in two rows are arranged in equally spaced relation one with respect to the other. Sludge removal device has sludge transporting conveyor equipped with drive and mounted on vessel bottom, and sludge remover with collars, which embrace respective magnetic cartridges and are secured to frame. Magnetic cartridges are formed as set of permanent magnets. Magnetic separator may be used in metal working industry for cleaning liquids from solid and colloid particles and contaminants. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved adjustment and operation conditions, enhanced reliability in operation and reduced dimensions. 7 cl, 3 dwg
