FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: strain of bacterium Yersinia pestis subsp. pestis is isolated from mouse-hare (Ochotona) Dahurica in natural plague focus in North Mongolia. Strain shows cultural-morphological and physiologically-biochemical traits that are typical for plague pathogen. Unique trait of the strain: apart from three usual resident plasmids of plague microbe it has the fourth plasmid pYX-16 (molecular mass is 16 mDa). The presence of the latter ensures to use this strain for intraspecies differentiation of plague microbe. EFFECT: bacterial strain indicated above. 2 ex
