APPARATUS FOR CHARGING SHAFT FURNACE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, mainly mechanisms for charging shaft furnaces. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes arranged on crown successively along vertical axis of furnace: receiving funnel, sealed accumulating hopper, upper and lower seats with openings closed by means of gas closures secured to tie rods of vertical-motion drive units, burden distributor joined by means of hollow shaft having disc block in its lower portion with reduction gear of rotation drive unit. In order to increase efficiency of burden charging and operational reliability of apparatus in conditions of excess pressure up to 2.5 atm. inside furnace and increased temperature of blast-furnace gases, apparatus is provided with weighing funnel arranged on strain gauges in accumulating hopper. Movable protective covers are mounted over seats of accumulating hopper. Covers are connected by tie rods with horizontal-motion mechanisms and they include in inner cavities burden cut-off cylinders secured through rests to tie rods with possibility of sliding motion. Annular discharge hopper is arranged under seat coaxially relative to blast furnace in casing of reduction gear mounted on crown of furnace. Casing includes coaxially arranged shells alternatively mounted on it and on its hollow shaft and forming annular connected vessels. Annular collector with feed branch pipe is placed under seat. Outlet slot of collector is divided by means of vertical partitions placed uniformly and tangentially along circle. EFFECT: double time period between maintenances, lowered coke consumption, increased cast iron yield. 4 cl, 4 dwg
