FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, equipment for charging burden into blast furnace. SUBSTANCE: burden charging apparatus is mounted on furnace dome and has feeding funnel, hermetically sealed accumulating hopper with upper and lower inlet openings, protective housings disposed above upper and lower openings, vertical motion drives positioned inside housings, gates and burden flow cutoff mechanisms mounted on drive bars. All mentioned parts of apparatus are positioned in succession relative to furnace vertical axis. Burden distributor is connected through hollow shaft to rotation drive reducer. Burden discharge spout is positioned under lower opening of accumulating hopper in axially aligned relation to furnace axis, within rotation drive reducer casing. Annular collector with supplying branch pipes is disposed between lower opening and burden discharge spout. Each protective housing has supporting ring and intermediate cylinder fixed on supporting ring and provided with cover. Intermediate cylinder is equipped with upper membrane serving support for vertical motion drive and lower membrane with aperture. Cylindrical burden flow cutoff mechanism is located in lower membrane aperture and has inner cylinder filled with nitrogen. Gate vertical motion drive is positioned within inner cylinder. Each gate is secured to vertical motion drive bar by means of attachment disposed under lower opening. Such construction allows required profile of burden on furnace mouth to be obtained and service life of gates and drives to be increased by three times.
