FIELD: metallurgy, production of alloying titanium alloys. SUBSTANCE: process of production of ferrotitanium includes preparation of burden and its melting. Burden has eutectic composition of titanium and iron chips and is pressed into briquettes before melting. Melting is performed in vacuum induction furnace at temperature 20-50 C higher than temperature of formation of eutectic. EFFECT: increased efficiency of process.
