FIELD: treatment of metal surfaces. SUBSTANCE: process involves treatment of parts by stable arc discharge. In process of treatment of surface potential changes along treated surface and initiates cathode jets into it. Temperature of surface of treated material in region of cathode spots is kept below level of melting temperature of material by application of adsorbent on surface of cathode spots and its holding on it till treatment is finished.
