FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, winning of aluminum from cryolite-alumina melts. SUBSTANCE: given shunting unit has current-carrying buses, stationary shunting element, fuse link made of solid low-melting-point current-conducting material with section ensuring its burning under current strength equal to 0.7-0.8 current of series and is additionally fitted with by-pass separable shunting element installed in parallel with stationary shunting element. Fuse link is placed in by-pass shunting element. By-pass separable shunting element is equipped with duct and fuse link is produced from aluminum or its alloy. EFFECT: prevented disconnection of series from current load in process of connection of electrolyzer, reduced shock-current and vibration loads on bus arrangement, expanded technological potential. 2 cl, 1 dwg
