FIELD: mechanical engineering; automobile internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: intake manifold of four-cylinder in-line internal combustion engine consists of separate channels for each cylinder forming in pairs a semitorus in plan and provided with fuel mixture heating device. Pipe 1 has flange 2 for two-chamber carburetor, one outlet hole of which is coupled with channels of first and fourth cylinders, and the other, with channels of second and third cylinders. Channels of pipe 2 have equal hydraulic diameter over entire length. Each channel, viewed from the front, has inlet section A formed by smooth turning through 90 degrees in vertical plane conjugated with horizontal section B, E which, in its turn, is conjugated with outlet section to cylinder head C, F made by smooth turning in vertical plane through angle less than 90 degrees. Channels forming semitorus in plan are divided by ridge in the bottom in zone of vertical turning through 90 degrees. Cross sections of channels on sections A, B, E have the form of four-petal rose inscribed in plane 22 into circumference, diameter D, of intake face. Cross sections of pipe channels on sections C and F have the shape of figure formed by alignment of four-petal rose with Cassinian oval with radius of circumference generatrices equal to R. Eccentricity of cassinian ovals in direction of channels increases smoothly and reaches maximum value G equal to 0.5-0.6 of radius R. Fuel mixture heating device is made in form of space 9 cast integral with pipe 1 stretching over entire lower surface of channels and coupled with engine cylinder head cooling system.
