FIELD: sealing technology. SUBSTANCE: sealing unit includes outer and inner check rings with sealing member made from expanded graphite located between them. Sealing member has two parallel sealing surfaces. Sealing member is formed by corrugated band made from expanded graphite wound over cylindrical surface. Edges of longitudinal side of band are perpendicular to generating lines of check rings. Corrugations are located perpendicularly to longitudinal side of band. Height of corrugations is no less than 1/3 of their pitch. At least one sealing surface of sealing member is enclosed in circular skeleton members. EFFECT: enhanced tightness of unit. 3 cl, 3 dwg
