FIELD: sealing technology; manufacture of seals for flanged joints, stems of shut-off adjusting fittings and revolving shafts. SUBSTANCE: method consists in rolling the graphite foil to density of 0.4 to 1.2 g/cu.cm, cutting it in tapes, moulding transversal corrugations on tape by passing it between two moving tapes engageable with tooth points of toothed rolls providing for its oscillatory motion before entering the toothed rolls in plane of rotation of rolls. Flexible polymer tapes or thin metal bands or thin metal band and flexible polymer tape together may be used as moving tapes. EFFECT: flexible of tape in two mutually perpendicular directions. 2 cl, 6 dwg
