FIELD: radiation technology, more specifically, technology of radiation modification of organic materials; may be used in manufacture of proceed lines for production of polymer films modified by irradiation. SUBSTANCE: method includes successive two-stage treatment with a beam of high-velocity electrons of the section of moving polymer film up to accumulation of the preset irradiation dose. Duration of time interval between finish of the treatment first stage of each section of film and start of the second treatment stage of initially irradiated film section is selected at least 500 ms. Dose accumulated by film every section at the first irradiation stage is selected sufficient for transition of film polymer material from free molecular state to partially cross-linking state characterized by formation of three-dimensional molecular structures with high molecular weight. Duration of time interval between finish of the first irradiation stage and start of the second irradiation stage may be selected equal to 1 s. In irradiation of polyethylene films, dose accumulated by film section at the first irradiation stage may be selected within 20 to 30 kGy. For two-stage irradiation of polymer film may be used electron accelerator with two foil ports which serve to lead electron beam out of accelerator vacuum chamber. EFFECT: improved mechanical and physical properties of polymer films to their radiation modification and efficient use of energy of irradiating electrons. 4 cl, 5 dwg
