FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of high-molecular compounds, particulary modification of surfaces of objects and materials based on isotactic polypropylene. Modification leads to formation of centres for grafting other polymers on the surface of polypropylene. Isotactic polypropylene is simultaneously exposed to radiation and oxidised with oxygen using a pulsed nanosecond electron beam in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. Pulse duration of the electron beam is at least less than 100 ns. Pulse frequency is at least over 1 Hz. Radiation exposure takes place at room temperature or lower, and in a vacuum of not less than 3·10-2 torr, but not more than 3·10-3 torr.
EFFECT: high adhesion of grafted polymer to the surface of isotactic polypropylene.
