FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the production of steel pipes with a protective polymer coating. Method includes the sequential application to the surface of the steel pipe of the first, then the second and outer coatings. First coating contains at least one primer layer. Second polymer coating contains at least one polymer adhesive layer. Outer polymer coating contains at least one polymer layer based on polyolefins. Electron-beam modification of the outer coating is performed using at least one electron accelerator with the irradiation dose of 5–100 Mrad with the ratio of the speed of movement to the speed of rotation of the pipe equal to 0.1–5.0. Modified outer polymer coating has the thickness that provides impact strength of at least 12 J.
EFFECT: increased impact resistance with stable adhesion of the polymer coating in the process of laying and long-term operation of pipes in rocky, pebbly and frozen soils without the additional use of various shock-proof protective devices.
