FIELD: chemical technology, inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves nitriding a charge containing aluminium compounds and carbon-containing component. Aluminium compounds: waste of caked aluminium nitride-base article polishing. Carbon-containing component: sucrose, glucose. Charge is nitrided by two stages: at 400-800 C (melting-pyrolysis of charge) and at 1550-1700 C (synthesis of AlN). Invention ensures to utilize waste production instead the parent aluminium hydroxide, decrease synthesis temperature, increase output (based on carrying out the first stage of nitriding in boiling layer), control chemical composition of the synthesized aluminium nitride-base powder using additional charge addition of aluminium hydroxide and additions activating caking to the polishing waste.
