FIELD: technology of ceramics producing. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing titanium dioxide, titanium nitride, aluminium nitride and aluminium oxide powder taken at the ratio, wt.-% aluminium nitride 0.1-58.0; titanium nitride 0.1-43.0; titanium dioxide 0.1-49.0, and aluminium oxide 0.1-63.0 followed by their combined grinding, blank forming and roasting in oxygen-containing atmosphere up to ceasing blank mass change. After cooling reaction-caked monophase ceramic material made of aluminium titanate is obtained. The yield is increased up to 126% This ceramic material shows finely grained structure. EFFECT: increased strength at decreased values of heat expansion linear coefficient. 1 tbl
