FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: birch bark is activated preliminary under conditions of explosive autohydrolysis at the following parameters: pressure is 3-5 MPa, temperature is 180-260 C, activation time is 60-360 s followed by hydrolysis in an aqueous-spirituous or an aqueous-alkaline medium and at the further acidification of hydrolyzate. Method is used for isolation of valuable organic compounds used in medicine, chemical and perfume industry from the wood waste processing. EFFECT: intensified process, simplified technology, decreased energy consumption. 2 tbl
