FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dispersed lamellar materials that can serve as chemically active fillers for various composite materials, preferably polymerization-capable composites. Lamellar filler is prepared by melting original mineral, molding various glasslike particles from melt, and their chemical-thermal treatment at 680-850 C in oxidizing gas medium to achieve at least 12 wt % of crystalline phase and more than 7•1019, advantageously more than 14•1019 spin/cu.cm of chemically active paramagnetic sites. Such combination of crystallinity and chemical activity provides formation of more quality-uniform protective and protective-decorative coatings on large-size objects and engineering constructions exploited mainly under tropical conditions. EFFECT: improved quality of coatings. 2 cl, 4 tbl
