FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to activated mineral flake or flocculent reinforcement made of natural basalt mineral to be used in building, textile and chemical industry for making composites. Mineral reinforcement is made by fusion to temperature 1250 - 1500°C of source basalt mineral pre-milled to size 5-40 mm and heated up to 250 - 900°C before to be charged to the furnace. It is followed with melt processing of 30 - 100 poise through surface and mechanical treatment. Melt processing is enabled by dispersion of thin melt sheet cooled with compressed air flow or melt jet disintegration in cooling air flow. Surface treatment is performed in oxygen-enriched air at 650 - 900°C within 5-30 minutes.
EFFECT: improved chemical activity and specific surface of mineral reinforcement.
