FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; cleaning of exhaust gases. SUBSTANCE: housing accommodates catalyst unit with channels formed by corrugated and plain tapes spiral wound around central rod. Two parallel flat faces are made on end of rod. Unit is held from axial displacement by bridge with chord in contact with unit end face, and two ends connected to housing. Middle part of chord is rigidly connected with flat face made on end of central rod. With exhaust gases passing through catalyst converter, oxidizing of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons takes place.
