FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gear is designed to form axially displaced cutting layer on standard grinding wheel. It is manufactured in the form of cantilever mandrel with butt protrusion eccentrically displaced which carries coupling conjugated to it and changing orientation of own axis. Coupling having eccentricity α, where H is height of grinding wheel, mm; D is outer diameter of grinding wheel, mm; α is angle of axially displaced cutting layer of grinding wheel is attached with one end face to flange whose other end face is placed at angle of α/2 and has central hole with spherical surface with eccentricity e. Axle with ball tip fixed on flange with the aid of skew washer with end faces arranged at angle α/2 with regard to one another is put into hole of flange. Grinding wheel is put on axle and fixed with washer and nut. Gear makes it possible to form axially displaced cutting layer on grinding wheel with any acute angle of inclination.
