FIELD: petrochemical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to crude hydrocarbon processing technology. Synthesis gas is produced by partial air-oxidation of crude hydrocarbons at oxygen to hydrocarbons ratio (0.5-0.8): 1. Mixture is compressed by piston in internal combustion engine cylinder to attain spontaneous inflammation and obtain temperature 1300-2300 C for a period of 10-3-10-2 s. Oxidation process is activated by introducing partial-oxidation products in amounts from 10 to 20 vol % (on initial raw material). Process products are expanded and cooled upon movement of piston to its lower dead point, after which synthesis gas-containing products from reaction space are introduced upon movement of piston to its top dead point and fresh portion of air-fuel mixture is introduced into cylinder.
