FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to chemistry and can be used in production of synthetic gas. Synthetic gas is obtained form hydrocarbon raw material under combustion conditions in a flow reactor which consists of two or more coaxially arranged chambers, with oxidising agent excess coefficient less than 1 and high pressure, in which the process is realised in a single step in spontaneous combustion mode using an igniter-stabiliser preheated to temperature sufficient for spontaneous combustion of the working mixture with delay of not more than 1 s. Combustion is carried out until oxygen residual content of not more than 0.3 vol % and ratio of volume concentration of hydrogen to carbon oxide equal to 1-2.2, and carbon oxide to carbon dioxide not less than 5. The apparatus for realising said method has an electropneumatic valve 1, a burner head 2, a mixing zone 3, an igniter-stabiliser 4, a reaction zone for the combustion chamber 5 in which the main combustion process takes place, an after-combustion zone 6, a nozzle 7 through which products of the process come out of the combustion chamber, and a spare outlet 8.

EFFECT: invention simplifies implementation of the process and enables dilution of the working mixture with water vapour.
