FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: method consists in evacuating original underground water, mixing it with air, keeping water in contact with air, and filtration. More particularly, a part of water is withdrawn from contact tank and supplemented with air whose bubbles are dispersed to a specified size while simultaneously raising pressure, after which water is allowed to stand until it is saturated with amount of oxygen sufficient to oxidize iron and returned into contact tank. Combination of such saturation parameters as amount of supplied air, size of dispersed bubbles, value of elevated pressure, and its action time should satisfy following expression: where Q is amount of supplied air, cu.m per 1 cu.m of water; P elevated pressure of water- air mixture, Pa; R bubble size, m; H Henry constant, cu.m Pa/kg; D coefficient of molecular diffusion, sq. m/s; ΔC difference of oxygen pressures in water near bubble wall Cs= Cp(1+2σ)/RoPo and in water bulk CL; Cp equilibrium concentration of oxygen in water; Cc= CL(ω+1)-ωCω (ω = Qw/Qc) needed amount of water, kg per 1 cu.m of circulation water; Qw underground water supply, cu.m/h; Qc oxygen concentration in underground water, kg/cu.m.
