FIELD: fiber-optical communication lines for information transmission. SUBSTANCE: method involves removal of shielding jacket from piece of optical fiber, mounting cylindrical acoustic source on this piece, excitation of stationary cylindrical acoustic wave in section of optical fiber in order to achieve generate optical discontinuity in fiber core, detection of information signal which has been dissipated on optical discontinuity. This results in possibility to increase level of signal which is tapped through side surface of optical fiber from core and to decrease power tapping from core in fiber-optical communication line which has optical fibers with multiple layers. EFFECT: increased efficiency, decreased losses in other waveguide layers. 3 dwg
