FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, processes of producing ferrotitanium for steel melting. SUBSTANCE: method of ferrotitanium smelting with titanium content of 65-75% in induction furnace without flux formation of liquid bath of ferrotitanium and addition of iron- and titanium-containing charge thereto including chips of titanium alloys to fill crucible fully with subsequent partial discharge of alloy from furnace and repetition of cycle. Addition of charge materials into furnace is effected as they are smelted to maintain iron- and titanium-containing components of charge within 1:3-1:4. Chips of titanium alloys are introduced onto liquid surface of alloy in crucible to form layer with thickness excluding reddening of its surface. Layer of ships is kept on melt surface up to completion of process and average speed of raising of melt level in crucible is ensured of not less than 0.6 m/h by regulation of furnace power and intensity of charge introduction.
