FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: reactor has distributing channels 9 extending in conical bottom 3 along arc of conical spiral, with angle of inclination of channels being equal to that of bottom generatrix. Channels 9 are arranged in overlapped relation one with respect to another so that any radius in reactor horizontal section intersects at least three channels 9. Longitudinal slit of each channel 9 is laterally offset to its lower part. Baffle is mounted at open end of each channel 9. During operation of coking reactor, heated raw material flows from longitudinal slits of channels 9 along helical mutually overlapped paths. Such construction allows raw material flows to be distributed uniformly across reactor section. Baffles positioned above upper open ends of channels lead heated raw material flows away from reactor walls to prevent formation of hot spots in walls of reactor housing 1. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of produced petroleum coke. 2 cl, 5 dwg
