FIELD: polymerization processes. SUBSTANCE: as polymerization raw material, aromatic fraction C10 is used, which is aromatic hydrocarbons' production by-product. Process is carried out in two steps on fixed bed of granulated dehydrogenation-polymerization catalyst based on copper chloride and ferric oxide. First polymerization zone of the tubular reactor is operated at 260-300 C and the second one at 310-350 C, after which product is separated into high-boiling, middle-boiling, and low-boiling fractions. Middle-boiling fraction is returned as recycle into the first polymerization zone. EFFECT: enabled utilization of by-product and extended resource of raw materials for production of high-quality petroleum cokes. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
