FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: connecting rod-and-piston unit has piston and connecting rod connected with piston and provided with small end in form of cup-like member truncated in width of connecting rod and having two straight line edges. Partition is made in piston. Space for small end is located in partition and made in form of slot formed by two spherical surfaces. Side walls in form of bosses are made on one side of partition from side of space end sections. Bosses are arranged for engaging with one straight line edge of cup-like member. Central channel to pass connecting rod is made in partition. Central channel opens part of space being directed from space towards side of piston skirt. Central angle corresponding to arc of outer surface of cup-like member in connecting rod rocking plane exceeds central angle corresponding to open part of space between end faces of side walls of open part by value greater than angle of connecting rod rocking. EFFECT: reduced dynamic loads in unit, decreased mechanical losses. 2 dwg
