METHOD OF TREATMENT-AND-SANITARY ACTION ON MAN Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: manual therapy; vertebrology; neurology. SUBSTANCE: preliminary digital examination of vertebral column is performed from top to bottom, with patient standing or sitting, his torso inclined forward and hands thrust upon some support. Indurations revealed during examination are pressed till painfulness arises with temporary delay of breathing. Then face muscles are relaxed and posture is changed by setting weight center between legs. For this purpose top of the head, armpits, femurs, and foot centers are installed in one frontal plane. Vertebral column is straightened by pressing on chin with palm edge of one hand and by exerting of counter pressure on vertebral column, on level of shoulder blades with the other hand. After patient is kept in this position for 5-8 s he is led over circle for 30-40 s with his body in position obtained. Then patient is positioned standing with his back to wall. Patient's prelum abdominale is pressed by fist of doctor's right hand below umbilicus for palm width, and with left hand put on chest, patient is made to strain prelum abdominale and to push fist forward while breathing out slowly. This done, patient performs gymnastic yogi exercises and is given massage designed to strengthen vertebral column, to correct posture and to recover muscles. Complex is accompanied by verbally suggestive effect intended for changing of patient's consciousness and awakening of interest and volition to recovery. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
