FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: arrester incorporates oblong body of solid dielectric which ends carry end electrodes. One of them is connected to rod electrode placed inside mentioned body along entire length of body and both end electrodes forming one main electrode. Middle part of outer surface of mentioned body carries second main electrode. Body and rod electrode can be bent in the form of loop and end electrodes are interconnected by means of strap. Body of arrester may have variable section growing from end electrodes to middle part of body.
