SUBSTANCE: polyene compounds of formula I: wherein R₁ is COR₉; R₂,R₄,R₆ are hydrogen; R₃,R₅,R₁₀,R₁₁ are hydrogen or lower alkyl; R₇ is cycloaliphatic radical or lower alkyl; R₈ is -O-CH₂-OCH₂-CH₂-O-CH₃ or OR₁₁: R₄ and R₆, taken together, form naphthalene ring with adjacent benzene ring; R₉ is O-R₁₀, and also salts thereof and optical and geometrical isomers thereof. Compounds I have significant activity in differentiation and proliferation of cells and are useful in local and system treatment of dermatological disorders associated with disorders of keratinization, dermatological or other diseases having inflammatory and/or immunoallergic component.
