FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: fine coal coming from the reductive smelting of iron ore may be agglomerated by simply heating it to 600 C and higher for at least 5 min. In addition, fine coal can be mixed with anthracite exhibiting no tendency to agglomeration or with swelling coal with low free swelling index. When being heated, coal is placed in the top section of furnace, so profiled part of furnace roof is heated by a natural way. EFFECT: enabled utilization of very low-grade coals and reduced power consumption. 6 cl, 3 dwg, 3 ex
