FIELD: transportation of cargoes over water areas covered by ice. SUBSTANCE: proposed process of transportation of cargoes over water areas covered by ice includes reinforcement of ice cover before positioning and transportation of cargo over it. Local reinforcement of ice cover is formed right under cargo by positioning of compensation device of variable buoyancy displaying buoyant force approximately equaling weight of transported cargo and moved in parallel with it. This makes it feasible to diminish bending stresses in ice cover and considerably raise its carrying capability. Proposed process may find wide application in sparsely populated regions of Siberia and in industrial exploitation of oil fields in Northern seas. EFFECT: expanded functional capabilities of process, transportation of cargoes over ice cover without preliminary reinforcement of ice in path of transportation of cargoes. 2 cl, 1 dwg
