GEAR TO COLLECT OIL FROM WATER SURFACE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: environmental control, cleaning of water surface from oil, oil products and other easily floating liquids. SUBSTANCE: gear includes hollow cylindrical body with oil intake hole partially submerged into water and tangential inlet conduit and branch pipe to carry away collected oil. Partition with holes is mounted in internal space of body for vertical reciprocating movement. Gate is made fast to upper part of partition and float is attached to its lower part. Cover of body is manufactured in the form of expanding nozzle with internal and external curvilinear grooves. Perforated tube placed coaxially to hole in vertex of partition is joined to smaller section of nozzle. Shaft-auger connected to drive is placed inside perforated tube, oil intake windows are made in tube proper between partition and cover. Guides are positioned inside body between perforated tube and partition. EFFECT: provision for efficient collection of oil from water surface, possibility of independent operation of gear without any manual action on process of oil collection. 1 cl, 3 dwg
