FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: surface of inductance wire which is directed towards article to be heated is shaped as surface which is located at constant distance to article surface in heated area. Size of inductance wire in direction which is perpendicular to middle line of working surface of induction coil alters according to given distribution of temperature in the direction. For articles which ratio of maximal and minimal thickness in heated area is greater than 2-4, width of inductance wire is calculated by equation in which it depends on physical characteristics of induction heating. EFFECT: possibility of temperature distribution along section of article of complex shape, alternating hardness along article length for thermal heating, increased speed of tuning of induction heating of articles of complex shape. 2 cl, 7 dwg
