FIELD: medical engineering; traumatology; orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: metal construction for osteosynthesis (pins, plates, screws, rods, needles) is made with stable near-to-surface layer with density of crystal structure defects not exceeding 2•109 cm-2 by exposure to electrolyte. For example, to manufacture needle with stable near-to-surface layer of 2•109 cm-2,, standard needle of chromium-nickel steel, 1.8 mm in diameter, is exposed to electrolyte for 20 min at voltage of 30 V. EFFECT: reduced number of inflammatory complications.
