METHOD OF MINING THICK STEEPLY DIPPING COAL SEAM BY HORIZONTAL LAYERS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: mining; mining of coal and other minerals with filling of worked out spaces. SUBSTANCE: mining field is worked by horizontal layers in upward direction. In so doing, layer is extracted in lower part of mining field on boundary with belt heading. Layers are extracted by tunneling machine with working member of selected action with ceiling layers forming arch dome. Drilled in middle part of seam, uniformly over the length of mining field are holes which are cased by sections. These holes are used for ventilation of layer during its extraction and supply of hydraulic fill after mining out. Broken coal is transported over telescopic troughs and coal chutes made in spaces between holes. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 10 dwg
