STRAIGHT-FLOW VACUUM SEAL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: separation of vacuum volumes and shut-off of pipe lines of large-sections. SUBSTANCE: vacuum seal includes housing, damper, damper guide mechanism with bellows sealing unit and sealing-up mechanism. Sealing-up mechanism is made in form of circular cylinder secured on housing of seal coaxially relative to its hole; it is connected to system of delivery of fluid medium under pressure and is provided with circular piston. Secured on end face of piston directed towards damper are several rods. These rods are evenly secured over circumference at similar distance from axis of seal hole. Each rod is introduced in vacuum volume through bellows seal and is engageable with its damper. EFFECT: extended functional capabilities; enhanced reliability of vacuum seal. 2 cl, 3 dwg
