METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HOT-VULCANIZATION RUBBER ADHESIVE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: two rubber compounds are preliminarily rolled. The first compound contains, wt.pts: bromobutylrubber (saturated rubber), 100; sulfur, 3.0; medium-activity vulcanization accelerator (altaks), 2.0; zinc white (vulcanization activator), 3.0; dead-burned magnesia, 1.0; stearic acid, 1.0; mineral oil (softener), 5.0; and carbon black, 45.0. The second compound contains, wt. pts: bromobutyl rubber (saturated rubber), 100; high-activity vulcanization accelerator (thiuram), 3.0; zinc white (vulcanization activator), 3.0; dead-burned magnesia, 1.0; stearic acid, 1.0; mineral oil, 5.0; and carbon black, 45.0. Once rolled, the two rubber compounds are introduced in equal amounts into dough mill. Into the same dough mill, 30-% gasoline solution of alkylphenolformaldehyde resin is added together with additional amount of gasoline. Total composition is as follows, wt parts: first rubber compound, 100; second rubber compound, 100; 30% gasoline solution of alkylphenolformaldehyde resin, 110; gasoline, 745. EFFECT: addition of resin in the form of solution at lower temperatures and shear deformations as compared to conditions on rolls provides required degree of dispersing of individual ingredients, increased adhesion firmness, and lifetime of adhesive. 5 tbl
