FIELD: cleaning gases formed, in particular, in burning of sulfur-containing raw materials, in particular, coal, oil, natural gas, peat, etc. SUBSTANCE: method consists in scrubbing of gases in scrubber 2 with aqueous alkali liquid 3, in particular, with aqueous solution of NaOH. Further on, a part of flow of scrubbing liquid is withdrawn for regeneration by adding calcium ions 17 to settle and remove CaSO4. Settled calcium sulfate is returned and mixed with a part of flow of scrubbing liquid prior to addition of calcium ions. The device includes gas scrubber 2 provided with means 5, 6, 7, 9 for circulation of scrubbing liquid 3, pipeline 11 for withdrawal of a part of flow 10 of scrubbing liquid, vessel for adding calcium ions 17, vessel 18 for settling calcium sulfate, vessel 22 for addition of carbonate ions, vessel 24 for settling calcium carbonate, pipeline 26 for return of regenerated scrubbing liquid to gas scrubber 2 and pipeline 25 for supply of settled calcium carbonate before vessel 18 for settling of calcium sulfate. This device is distinguished by presence of pipeline 19 for recirculation of settled calcium surface and hole in vessel 14 which is located before vessel 16 for addition of calcium ions. The method allows obtaining of pure gypsum as waste which is suitable for industrial utilization. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 10 cl, 1 dwg
