FIELD: specific gravity separation of fine-grained and slime materials, in particular, in mining industry. SUBSTANCE: pulp of concentrated material is supplied to plates wetted with water and installed vertically in a spaced relation to one another. Plates have grooves inclined to horizon. Grooves on opposite surfaces of adjacent plates are inclined in mutually opposite direction. Pulp is supplied with certain volume by mathematical relationship. Pulp flows on both sides of plates under laminar conditions along grooves. Light fraction is suspended and removed together with flowing pulp. Heavy fraction is settled in grooves and removed from plates with the help of washing water in certain volume according to mathematical relationship. Water supplied with such volume cannot flow only along grooves, but it flows from groove over ridges to wash out heavy fraction. The separator includes plates, feeder, devices for supply of washing water, withdrawal of light and heavy fractions. EFFECT: highly efficiency gravitational separation by provision of conditions for settling and accumulation of heavy fraction of concentrated material at pulp laminar flow on both sides of vertical plate. 7 cl, 5 dwg
