METHOD OF PROTECTIVE-DECORATIVE TITANIUM NITRIDE COATING OF CERAMIC WARE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2123540 C1

FIELD: methods of protective-decorative titanium nitride coating of ceramic ware based on vacuum deposition of coating of material in cathode sputtering. SUBSTANCE: method includes coating of water in places of picture applied before by mask with paint in the form of lithographic gouache with application of additional decoration with the same paint and heating up to 300-400 C directly in metal holders of chamber furnace. Hot holders are placed into vacuum plant where titanium pressed from powder is used as cathode material, and nitrogen, as reagent gas. Cathode is sputtered by electric arc evaporation with ion-plasma deposition with the following parameters: electric arc current is 100-110 A; pressure of reactant gas (nitrogen) is 2x1/10 Pa; base (holder) is potential zero; time of coating deposition is within 120-180 s during which holders with ware are rotated round axis of vacuum plant at speed of 15-20 rpm. Then holders with ware are withdrawn and mask of gouache is removed from ware with the help of water and caustic soda. EFFECT: higher strength of adhesion of coating with ceramic base, extended color range of titanium nitride coating with additional artistic framing.
