FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to process of applying of thin film titanium and titanium nitride decorative coating on glazed ceramic and polymer materials and items in vacuum by method of ion-plasma sputtering and can be implemented in production of building materials and consumer goods. Ion-plasma sputtering is performed onto padding with a cathode of a high-melting material in the medium of nitrogen containing reaction gas and then the item is held till required colour hue is obtained. Padding is preliminary cleaned with ion bombardment in a glow discharge at temperature of 45-50°C in the medium of inert gas for 10-15 minutes. Sputtering of coat is carried out at temperature lower, than 200°C.
EFFECT: upgrading of physic and mechanical properties of items and reduction of working cycle of applying coating.
