FIELD: drilling and repair of wells. SUBSTANCE: this relates to devices used for carrying out round trip operations with pump-compressor and drill pipes. Elevator has body with boss and flat, shackle, jaws with rod which are connected together by hinge, locking mechanism in the form of handle with spring-loaded lever installed on boss with possibility of turning. Upper end of lever is connected with spring-loaded detent which is installed for interaction with body flat. Lower end of lever is adapted for interaction with slot made in boss. Mounted on boss of elevator body is torsion spring. One end of torsion spring is secured on boss, and other end of torsion spring is fastened on handle for its positive movement to closed position of elevator. Installed on body flat is supporting strip with high surface hardness. Made in supporting strip is recess for fixing handle in elevator open position. Aforesaid embodiment improves reliability of elevator in operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 cl, 4 dwg
